How Userfox Sends & Tracks Emails In Their Ruby App Using The Mailgun API

Userfox is a startup that helps companies improve onboarding by replacing a single, easily-forgotten welcome email with a timed "drip" sequence of tips, stories, and reminders. Built on Ruby on Rails with MongoDB, the product is simple to install—a single JavaScript snippet—and addresses the problem that new users often don’t engage immediately after signup.

To send and track these emails Userfox uses Mailgun’s API for delivery and its Analytics/Webhooks for event data (opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, etc.). They post messages via the REST API, verify webhook signatures, and log events to their database, which gives fast, reliable delivery and actionable analytics without building or managing email infrastructure.
