Creating a Better User Experience with Email and Validations

Flipsnack is a digital publishing platform serving over two million creators with tools for catalogs, portfolios and magazines. By 2017 they were sending transactional email through Google and ran into sending limits, no analytics, and a shared IP that hurt deliverability — problems that prompted a search for a new email provider.

Flipsnack migrated to Mailgun for dedicated IPs, open/click tracking and address validation during signup, and then implemented targeted transactional and billing reminder messages. As a result their IP and domain reputation improved, delivery rates reached 98.4% for roughly 75,000 transactional emails per month, and validation/tip suggestions helped reduce lost users from mistyped addresses while supporting higher retention.
