Case Study: Steinway & Sons achieves harmonized global brand and modern digital experiences with Magnolia CMS

A Magnolia CMS Case Study

Preview of the Steinway & Sons Case Study

How Steinway used Magnolia to fine-tune its digital musical experience

Steinway & Sons, the 160‑year‑old piano maker known for artisanal craftsmanship, needed to modernize its online presence to reflect changing consumer behaviour and to better showcase its dealer and artist networks. Its legacy CMS was dated, and Steinway wanted a responsive, design‑flexible platform that could handle structured dealer and artist data without the overhead of building a custom system or relying on underpowered PHP solutions.

Steinway implemented Magnolia in about six months, using its app framework and REST APIs to import and structure dealer and artist content, build reusable components and dialogs, and support multiple languages and regional workflows. The result was a streamlined, stable site (relaunch February 2016) that improved brand storytelling, made content creation and local training easier, and provided a scalable platform to roll out dozens of regional sites while benefiting from strong vendor support.
