A Magnolia CMS Case Study

Preview of the MVG Case Study

How Magnolia and Munich Transport Corporation move over 500 million passengers into the digital future each year

MVG (Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft), the Munich transport operator serving over 500 million passenger journeys a year, needed a modern web presence to support commuters and its growing digital agenda. Its legacy workflow relied on Adobe Dreamweaver, which was not browser-based and forced whole-site publishing, causing delays, outdated content issues and preventing easy integration with other systems.

With partner EQS, MVG implemented Magnolia as a browser-based, mobile-responsive digital platform (launched summer 2015), enabling integrations such as traffic-disruption feeds, customer portal, escalator status, ticket-machine info and next-train times, plus simple multilingual support. The new system let editors publish incremental, time-sensitive updates—giving the press team independence, simplifying content marketing, improving the commuter experience and enabling ongoing digital projects like a ticket-rate recommendation tool.
