Case Study: BMW China achieves greater multisite flexibility and faster deployment with Magnolia CMS

A Magnolia CMS Case Study

How BMW China gained more flexibility by migrating to Magnolia CMS

BMW China, part of the global BMW Group, needed greater flexibility managing multiple departmental websites. Hosting many sites on a single Adobe AEM server created constraints as different teams required different solutions, so BMW chose to split sites into independent systems and selected Magnolia CMS to increase agility.

Magnolia was deployed on BMW’s internal servers and offered a WYSIWYG editor, rich built‑in modules and an AEM‑compatible JCR/DAM architecture that simplified migration. The new setup lets dealers create bespoke communications, reduces developer dependency, speeds deployments, introduces reviewed publishing workflows and cuts license and maintenance costs.
