South Waikato District - Customer Case Study

South Waikato District, a local government organisation serving 22,000+ residents with 105+ staff and a $29.2m annual expenditure, was struggling with fragmented, paper- and spreadsheet-based project management that left some initiatives under-resourced and others misaligned with its strategic goals. To address this, MAGIQ Software implemented MAGIQ Strategic Planning alongside the Council’s existing MAGIQ finance and business systems.

MAGIQ Software’s MAGIQ Strategic Planning delivered a single, centralised platform to prioritise, authorise, track and report on projects, giving leaders clear visibility over capital expenditure, financial planning and risk and enabling projects to be evaluated against KPIs. The solution replaced disparate manual systems, improved prioritisation and resource allocation, reduced workload for asset managers, and created a disciplined process that ensures resources are only allocated to projects aligned with Council strategy.
