Moree Plains Shire Council faced onerous State Government statutory reporting requirements but relied on a manual, highly administrative process that was time-consuming and produced inconsistent and sometimes inaccurate organisational data. To address this, Moree Plains Shire Council engaged MAGIQ Software and expanded its use of the MAGIQ Performance suite by implementing the MAGIQ Strategic Planning application to more efficiently manage delivery of its Operational Plan.

MAGIQ Software’s MAGIQ Performance Strategic Planning streamlined data collection and reporting, producing more consistent manager submissions and freeing staff to spend time analysing performance rather than compiling it — the Council’s 2016/17 Operational Plan report was described by a councillor as the most comprehensive in 20 years. The solution also delivered greater transparency across more than 400 operational activities, allowing the Council to track completion versus budget (for example, identifying activities 90% complete with only 50% of budget used), enabling more efficient allocation of limited funds, measurable time savings and improved community outcomes.
