Kaipara District Council Transitions to the Cloud

Kaipara District Council was facing ageing, unsupported on‑premise storage and a small, distributed IT team with staff frequently working from home and sharing responsibilities. To address these risks and support its finance and administration needs, Kaipara chose MAGIQ Software and its MAGIQ Cloud platform as the vendor and solution.

MAGIQ Software migrated Kaipara’s on‑prem MAGIQ system to the MAGIQ Cloud (hosted on AWS), enabling cloud‑based finance, administration and business performance management. The move removed on‑prem server risk, lowered infrastructure costs, improved security (including two‑factor authentication), and delivered noticeably faster performance — staff could approve purchase orders from home without Remote Desktop Services — allowing Kaipara to rapidly mobilise its workforce during the pandemic with ongoing MAGIQ Software support.
