Austin Health, a major tertiary healthcare provider in northeast Melbourne with 8,000 staff and a $700M annual expenditure, needed a highly collaborative, “bottom-up” budgeting process and far more flexible reporting to improve transparency, accountability and meet strict government reporting requirements. To address this, Austin Health selected MAGIQ Software and deployed the MAGIQ Performance Suite.

MAGIQ Software implemented MAGIQ Performance across Austin Health’s General Ledger, Payroll, Leave Management and Billing systems, replacing a fragile Microsoft Access solution and enabling real-time analysis and comparison of budgets to actuals. The result was a much more transparent, accountable budgeting process—used by more than 100 managers—faster, more accurate reporting to the Board and regulators, and the ability to produce complex, detailed budgets for the large organisation.
