Siemens Healthineers cuts EPS waste by 5,240kg a year with MagicLogic

Siemens Healthineers, a leading MedTech company, needed to optimize its domestic shipments of dry ice frozen reagents and parts. The company's distribution center historically used a single mid-sized cooler for all shipments and sought to reduce packaging size without increasing the quantity of coolers used per order. Using MagicLogic's BlackBox solution, Siemens Healthineers ran simulations to determine the optimal cooler size for each shipment. The results proved that 96% of their domestic shipments could use the smallest cooler, leading to an annual reduction of 5,240kg of expanded polystyrene (EPS). This solution provided significant cost savings through reduced parcel size, freed up valuable warehouse space, and represented a major sustainability win for MagicLogic's customer.
