Magic’s Innovative SmartUX App Mitigates Risk and Boosts Productivity for West Coast Reduction

West Coast Reduction, Western Canada’s leading independent rendering company, needed to replace a driver mobile app built on discontinued Oracle technology that was difficult to secure and maintain. The company also wanted a modern solution that could preserve its existing JDE processes while improving driver productivity, connectivity, scanning, notifications, and field updates. West Coast Reduction chose Magic Software, using Magic SmartUX and Magic xpi for the new app.

Magic Software delivered NLBOne, a low-code mobile app that integrates directly with JD Edwards, supports Bluetooth ear tag scanning, combines multiple lines of business into one interface, and enables automatic in-app updates. The app has been in production since November 2022, improved cybersecurity and reduced downtime risk, streamlined operations for drivers, and saved time through better route management and instant push notifications. The project also expanded beyond the original wish list, adding more than 20 enhancements.
