Finanz Informatik, the Frankfurt-based IT service provider for the Sparkassen Finanzgruppe serving 441 savings banks and about 135 million accounts, needed to synchronize its BMC Remedy ARS helpdesk with its SAP R/3 ERP system. The existing process was manual and slow—about five minutes per job—requiring additional effort to produce invoicing and involving multiple complicated processes that hampered efficiency.
The company implemented Magic’s SAP-certified iBOLT integration platform, installing iBOLT on the ARS server to convert ticket data to SAP-compatible formats and call SAP function modules via RFC/BAPI so job numbers could be returned to Remedy ARS. The integration was completed within a month with minimal user impact, enabled parallel processing and invoicing, and eliminated manual interface programming—paying for itself in under six months and breaking even within eleven months—while positioning iBOLT as the core Remedy ARS interface solution going forward.
