Development of a Health Statement App for The Hebrew University in Jerusalem Community

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s IT department built a multi-language Health Statement app using Magic Software’s XPA 3.3 to monitor COVID-19 symptoms for students, faculty and visitors across five campuses. Faced with the need to process several thousand daily entries in real time, the project confronted tight timing, multi-server operation, three-language support, and strict security, privacy and third‑party WhatsApp integration requirements.

Using XPA 3.3 and a third‑party WhatsApp/SMS interface, the system sends users a WhatsApp link to a daily health form, returns a same‑day ID on submission, and stores phone-linked data for subsequent visits to avoid re-entry. Deployed in days by a single experienced developer, the solution provides on‑the‑fly data display via Magic web services to the WhatsApp API, streamlines campus entry, and handles high daily volumes while meeting encryption and privacy needs.
