Top Swiss Bank, a financial services customer in Europe, needed to discover and pseudonymize sensitive data without using real data, while maintaining high performance, referential integrity, and consistent masking across interdependent formats such as CIF, IBAN, and account numbers. The bank also wanted to find all sensitive data across mainframe, database, and file sources, support custom data classifications, and enable dynamic data masking. Mage Data’s MENTIS platform was used to address these discovery, classification, and masking requirements.

Mage Data implemented custom data classifications and discovery methods, along with custom masking for CIF and IBAN, to preserve complex relationships while obfuscating sensitive information. Using a single platform, Mage Data delivered discovery and masking across IMS, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and files, and supported cross-border data sharing and cloud migration assessments. The project met all requirements, with 60+ custom data classifications configured.
