Largest Private Bank in Dominican Republic Chooses MENTIS to Protect Customers’ Sensitive Data

Banco Popular Dominicano, the largest private bank in the Dominican Republic, needed a way to protect customers’ sensitive data and PII across a complex mix of Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 applications, especially in its non-production environment. The bank turned to Mage Data for a comprehensive discovery and masking approach, using its sensitive data discovery and data scrambling capabilities to better control where sensitive information was stored.

Mage Data implemented MENTIS Sensitive Data Discovery and iScramble to automatically locate, classify, and mask sensitive data such as credit card numbers, national IDs, addresses, phone numbers, and other PII while preserving application functionality. The bank completed its SQL Server non-production environment and began deploying the solution across Oracle and DB2 as well, with the tools becoming part of its standard security routines and leading Banco Popular Dominicano to also select iSubset to help reduce non-production database size.
