Higher Education University partnered with Mage Data to address the complexity of identifying sensitive data across its ERP system and network, as well as managing who had access to that data. Driven by auditor mandates and compliance requirements, the university needed a solution that could scan for potential sensitive data, support resolution actions, and remain easy to maintain. Mage Data’s MENTIS platform, including discovery and masking capabilities, was selected to meet these needs.

Mage Data implemented discovery and masking for Oracle PeopleSoft, using products such as iDiscover, PeopleSoft Intelligent Pack, and iMask to identify all sensitive data in the PeopleSoft systems and protect individual data items at the application and page levels. The solution also enabled reporting and remediation options like quarantine and delete, and the customer highlighted the importance of the discovery capability. While no specific numeric metrics were provided, the result was improved visibility and protection of sensitive data to support compliance.
