Fortune 20 Conglomerate Company needed a better way to discover and protect sensitive data across a complex application landscape, while maintaining referential integrity in masked data and extending coverage to more complex data types like BLOBs. Existing approaches were not finding all sensitive information, and the company needed a scalable solution for diverse data sources including SAP, PeopleSoft, and custom applications. Mage Data provided the platform and masking/discovery capabilities to address these challenges.

Mage Data implemented data discovery and masking across SAP, PeopleSoft, and custom applications, including 13 data classifications and support for sensitive data found in unexpected areas like temporary tables and text fields. The solution delivered better performance than existing tools, was readily accepted by SAP stakeholders, and satisfied ISO27002 control 14.3.1 for protecting PII in non-production environments. Mage Data also found 10% more sensitive data than previously identified in PeopleSoft and scaled successfully across additional systems.
