EPL Diamonds, a jewelry manufacturer, wanted to shift its focus from expensive SMS communications to the email channel to drive repeat sales. The challenge was to build a substantial email database from its existing customer base that primarily provided phone numbers. They partnered with marketing vendor Maestra to accomplish this transition and increase online sales.

Maestra implemented a solution to convert phone numbers to email addresses by sending targeted SMS and Viber messages with a link to a loyalty program sign-up page. Using A/B testing to optimize the message, they successfully grew their database of customers with both an email and a phone number from 24% to 37%. This strategy significantly reduced contact costs and increased the reach of their email marketing. As a result, Maestra helped EPL Diamonds achieve a 7.2% increase in the share of total revenue generated from email campaigns.
