Healthwatch unifies data across 150 local teams with MadeByPi

Healthwatch, an independent organization with over 150 local branches across England, faced a challenge in aggregating and analyzing nationwide health and social care data. Each local Healthwatch operated with its own unique systems and data formats, making it difficult to compare insights on a national scale. To address this, they partnered with vendor MadeByPi.

MadeByPi developed a custom data portal using Symfony and ReactJS. This solution allowed users to upload their diverse .csv and Excel files, with the platform using fuzzy matching to automatically suggest how to map local fields to a standardized global taxonomy. The portal enabled Healthwatch to normalize its data, unlocking more effective national analysis and impactful outcomes from the nearly one million experiences it gathers annually.
