AEGIS, a specialist insurance provider, faced the challenge of replacing its legacy document management system with a solution on Microsoft SharePoint to reduce IT operational costs. The project required a system that could match the robust functionality users were accustomed to, including seamless email management and integration with line-of-business applications. They turned to the vendor MacroView and its product, DMS Pro, to address critical weaknesses in SharePoint’s out-of-the-box capabilities.

MacroView implemented its DMS Pro add-on, which was customized and integrated with AEGIS's Policy and Claims systems to provide intuitive navigation, drag-and-drop saving from Outlook, and powerful search. The solution successfully migrated 800GB of data, resulting in a system that users found to be high-performing and feature-rich. For management, the project was a major success, completed on schedule and under budget, which led to significant savings in software licenses and operational costs while minimizing business disruption.
