Renu Robotics Finds Reliable PCBA Production Partner In MacroFab

Renu Robotics, a San Antonio–based maker of all‑electric autonomous mowers, needed a flexible, scalable electronics manufacturing partner as it moved from prototyping to production. Initially using MacroFab for prototype runs and 10‑day turnarounds while validating designs, Renu sought a partner that could evolve with its needs and support higher-volume, ruggedized PCBA production.

MacroFab moved Renu onto its platform and North American network, taking over PCBA assembly for each mower (five complex PCBAs per unit), applying conformal coating for outdoor durability, and shipping completed boards for final testing and assembly. The MacroFab partnership let Renu ramp production in batches of ~80 units and plan for more than 1,000 units in 2022, while Renu’s customers continue to realize 30–50% reductions in vegetation management costs.
