Fingerprint biometrics for Kronos workforce timekeeper

Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, Inc. partnered with M2SYS Technology to improve workforce timekeeping. The Foundation needed a faster, more reliable way for employees to clock in and out using its KRONOS time and attendance software, while reducing long lines, correcting recurring timestamp errors, and preventing buddy punching.

M2SYS Technology implemented fingerprint biometric readers integrated with KRONOS so employees could identify themselves quickly at the terminal and generate immediate electronic time stamps for payroll. The solution saved about 10 staff hours per pay cycle, or roughly 240 hours per year, and delivered an estimated $15,000 in annual savings from a $5,000 investment. It also improved employee comfort and sped up clock-in and clock-out by about 2 minutes per use, adding up to significant time savings across the workforce.
