San Francisco muni slashes its collision rates with Lytx

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni), operating an 800+ bus fleet, needed to improve operator and passenger safety, gain better visibility into risky drivers and driving behaviors, and identify recurring trouble spots across its routes.

Muni implemented the Lytx DriveCam Enterprise program—partnering with Lytx to roll out cameras, an organization-wide communication plan, and data-driven training and discipline. In the first full year of use collisions fell 50% (from 964 to 483), avoidable collisions dropped 33% and unavoidable collisions 57%; near-collisions, running red lights, late reactions and following-too-close incidents also declined, and nearly all of the fleet’s worst-performing drivers improved.
