DS Waters of America, a national bottled-water distributor, needed to cut rising collision rates and related claims costs while increasing fleet accountability and freight visibility across its 3,000-vehicle operation. Leadership wanted a way to identify root causes, help exonerate drivers after incidents, and shift from a punitive, after-the-fact approach to proactive risk reduction.
DS Waters partnered with Lytx, ran an education campaign, and deployed DriveCam video event recorders combined with targeted coaching and outsourced program management. Within a year the program corrected seat-belt and cell-phone violations, reduced collisions by 42, cut liability losses by about $86,000, slashed customer complaints to four, and helped lower product damage.
