Dart Transit Company, a truckload carrier with 1,500 owner-operator drivers, faced rising safety risks because many drivers in the motoring public don’t know how to drive around big rigs. Dart also struggled to prove driver innocence after incidents and wanted to reinforce its culture of safety across the fleet.
Dart implemented the Lytx Driver Safety Program (DriveCam) to provide video-based coaching and an extra set of eyes in the cab, both to improve driver behavior and to document incidents. The program decreased near collisions by 65%, improved late response by 77% and following distance by 69%, while helping exonerate drivers and protecting both drivers and the public.
