TrueCar, a third-party automotive introducer that connects car buyers with dealerships, wanted to better understand electric vehicle (EV) shoppers and how consumers approach the car-buying journey. The team, led by Senior Director of Product Design Justin Nowlen, needed deeper insight into when shoppers consider TrueCar and whether they would be open to vehicles beyond traditional gas-powered options.

Using Lyssna’s Interviews feature, TrueCar conducted rapid user interviews with panel recruitment, calendar integration, and automated reminders all in one workflow. Lyssna helped the team speak with users within days, observe how they navigated the site, and uncover that shoppers often focused narrowly on matching vehicles rather than extra information or high-contrast banners. The result was a clearer understanding of user behavior and preferences, enabling TrueCar to refine its experience faster, with qualitative insights gathered in the same week rather than weeks.
