Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a medium-sized acute hospital serving around 300,000 people in Northamptonshire, needed a way to connect previously siloed healthcare systems and support fast, real-time data exchange. When the Trust introduced a new theatre system, it identified an urgent need for an integration solution, and selected Lyniate’s Rhapsody Integration Engine for its healthcare-specific functionality, reliability, and scalability.
Lyniate implemented Rhapsody as the Trust’s central integration platform, translating more than 6,000 PAS messages per day into 13 downstream clinical systems and processing around 70,000 messages daily overall. The solution enabled a wide range of interfaces, including HL7 theatre feeds, cancer and medicine system integrations, email and SMS alerts, and electronic discharge letters, while reducing workload and saving time and money—such as configuring SMS alerts in just a couple of days and eliminating the need for a separate alerting system.
