Case Study: Global Airline Handling Company improves airport lounge operations with Luxoft computer vision

A Luxoft Case Study

Preview of the Global Airline Handling Company Case Study

Using Computer Vision to Improve the Airport Lounge Experience

Luxoft worked with Global Airline Handling Company, a global airline managing over 140 million passengers a year, to improve the experience and operations of more than 50 airport lounges across 31 airports worldwide. The airline needed a way to better understand lounge occupancy, reduce overcrowding, and improve service levels and inventory planning, using computer vision and visitor-tracking software.

Luxoft delivered a contactless occupancy-monitoring solution built with Microsoft technologies, including Xbox Kinect, Azure IoT Suite, Power BI, and Surface Pro 4 devices. In just 6 weeks, Luxoft launched a prototype that tracked more than 9,500 visitors with over 90% accuracy, enabling real-time reporting, better supply-chain management, and demand-based pricing opportunities for low-occupancy periods.
