Case Study: ElectroCars advances EV charging in Ukraine with Luxoft’s billing and network platform

A Luxoft Case Study

Preview of the ElectroCars Case Study

Luxoft is designing a new EV charging network and universal billing platform to boost electric car ownership in Ukraine

ElectroCars, an electric car sales and repair company in Ukraine, needed a way to support growing EV adoption despite a fragmented charging landscape where each charging point operator used a different billing system. Customers were forced to juggle multiple service and payment options, making EV charging confusing and inconvenient. Luxoft was brought in to design a cloud-based or on-premise EV charging infrastructure and billing platform.

Luxoft implemented a customizable SaaS-style charging-point software platform based on OCPP standards that unified payment and charging-point management, with features for network setup, bookings, user management, route planning, and EV-specific charging time calculations. The solution created a digital foundation for a more robust charging network, improved flexibility, and reduced maintenance time and costs while helping independent CPOs stay profitable. The case study also reports that EV registrations in Ukraine grew by 58% in the first half of 2019, supporting the need for this kind of infrastructure.
