Philips Oral Healthcare, the leader in consumer oral healthcare products, wanted to create a best-in-class connected toothbrush experience for adults that would set a new standard for daily brushing. Working with Luxoft, through its design and innovation arm Smashing Ideas, the company aimed to combine technology, research, insights, and big data into a smarter Philips Sonicare brush and mobile app.
Luxoft delivered a research-led, end-to-end product strategy and mobile healthcare app built around real user testing, including interviews, focus groups, prototypes, and contextual inquiry. The solution provided real-time, personalized brushing guidance and improved user engagement: 90% of surveyed users said the feedback helped them brush with better technique, 95% said it was the most effective product for building healthier brushing habits, 77% felt more motivated to brush, and average brushing time increased by 6% from 1.88 to 2.0 minutes.
