Svensk Bokkonst creates 25 unique catalogue editions with Lundgren+Lindqvist

Svensk Bokkonst, a non-profit association celebrating high-quality Swedish book design, faced the challenge of creating a catalogue for its annual competition that could authentically represent the winning books. Historically, reproducing books through photography and printing had been a reductive process that stripped away the materiality and authentic experience of the physical objects. The vendor, Lundgren+Lindqvist, was commissioned to design this prestigious publication.

Lundgren+Lindqvist's innovative solution bypassed reproduction entirely by using actual pages from each of the 25 awarded books, making every catalogue a unique, ephemeral portfolio of original fragments. The vendor also designed the award diplomas by repurposing the covers of the disassembled books and created invitations and a short film for the award gala. The result was a highly unique and authentic catalogue that juxtaposed the book as an object with its lived experience, further manifesting the quality of Swedish design through the use of a Swedish typeface. The catalogue was presented at the award gala at the Royal Library in Stockholm in late 2025.
