Preview of the Polestar Case Study

Polestar creates a 5-chapter design book with Lundgren+Lindqvist over 18 months

Polestar, a global leader in Scandinavian electric car manufacturing, collaborated with the design studio Lundgren+Lindqvist to create the fourth volume in their series of Design Books. The challenge was to produce a publication for the Polestar 4 that adhered to the established brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries through an experimental approach to form and structure, aiming to capture the car's essence in a novel way.

Lundgren+Lindqvist developed a publication that merged the tangible experience of a book with the dynamic feel of film, using transparency as a central theme. Their solution incorporated five distinct paper stocks, translucent pages, and a semi-transparent dust jacket to create a cinematic and tactile journey. The result was a technically complex and high-quality art book that blurs the line between technical documentation and visual expression, successfully narrating the story of the Polestar 4 through a collaborative effort with multiple artists and specialist producers.
