LL'Editions releases a 227-photo art book with Lundgren+Lindqvist

The customer, LL'Editions, a publisher, collaborated with the design studio Lundgren+Lindqvist to create a publication for artist Joakim Ojanen. Their challenge was to design a book that would authentically represent the artist's unique studio and extensive body of photographic work, requiring a creative and thoughtful publication design solution.

Lundgren+Lindqvist designed a book with an open spine and heavy cardboard cover, featuring the artist's own handwriting and drawings. They devised a full-bleed image system that, combined with the open spine, allows the book to lay flat and emulate the feeling of walking through the studio. The vendor also designed a special edition package, including a walnut box for a bronze sculpture. The book sold out its special edition in 20 minutes, won the prestigious Svensk Bokkonst award in 2023, and was recognized as one of Sweden's most beautiful books.
