SzigmaSzervíz Ltd., a Hungarian risk management company, faced the challenge of helping a manufacturing client manage schedule risks during factory maintenance shutdowns, as delays were causing significant profit losses. To address this, they partnered with Lumivero and utilized its @RISK software (now part of the ScheduleRiskAnalysis tool within the DecisionTools Suite) to perform an integrated risk assessment.

Lumivero's solution enabled SzigmaSzervíz to apply the Szigma IntegRisk® method, using Monte Carlo simulation on the project schedule to quantify potential delays and identify critical risks. This process allowed for targeted risk treatment actions. The analysis revealed that a four-day delay would cause a €5 million loss, but by undertaking this risk management activity with Lumivero's tools, the company could meet its original deadline and avoid that significant financial impact.
