Transnet Capital Projects, a major South African freight logistics company, was faced with the challenge of managing a highly complex portfolio of over 130 varied infrastructure projects. To better understand the significant schedule, cost, and execution risks across these capital projects, they turned to Lumivero for a solution using the @RISK software.

Lumivero’s @RISK enabled the company to consolidate 86 risk registers, containing 1,064 individual risks, into a single analytical model. By using the software’s functions within Excel, the team identified the most significant risk areas across the project portfolio, providing scientific and defendable numbers for contingency planning. This analysis provided clear insights into root causes, ultimately increasing the quality of decision-making and giving project teams greater confidence.
