ADWEC uses @RISK to forecast water demand in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Company (ADWEC) faced the challenge of accurately forecasting water demand to ensure supply security and avoid the high costs of over- or under-producing desalinated water. To meet a regulatory requirement for a probabilistic approach, the company sought risk analysis software and selected Lumivero's @RISK for its features and cost-effectiveness.

Lumivero's @RISK solution enabled ADWEC to model variables with inherent uncertainties, such as population growth and seasonal variation, using a bottom-up statistical approach. As a result, ADWEC can now produce highly accurate demand forecasts with a high degree of confidence, contributing to a reliable and cost-effective water supply for the region and a track record of no capacity shortages since 1998.
