Lucite International required accurate as-built models of its complex and historic Cassel Works petrochemical facility to support maintenance, upgrades, and environmental projects. The challenge was capturing data within a live, hazardous environment featuring dense infrastructure, continuous operations, and strict safety protocols. Luminous Group Ltd was engaged to provide laser scanning and digital modelling services.

Luminous implemented an innovative scanning program using Surphaser and FARO laser scanners over five years, even developing a remote method for hazardous zones. They processed the data into detailed engineering-ready models using ClearEdge and Autodesk Revit. This provided Lucite International with a comprehensive digital baseline that reduced project risk, improved maintenance planning, and enabled enhanced collaboration without repeated site visits.
