Clyde & Co, a Global Top 100 law firm specialising in insurance and casualty work, needed to automate the review of incoming medical insurance claims to rapidly detect key information and advise whether to settle or dispute potentially fraudulent claims. Since early 2022 the firm has been using Luminance’s AI platform to tackle this challenge and reduce manual analysis across its Casualty Practice.

Luminance delivered a plug-and-play solution combining supervised machine learning, computer vision (including industry‑first checkbox recognition) and API integrations to create an end-to-end claim handling workflow. The platform was up and running within 24 hours, learned 19 of 20 key fields after 20 hours of use, produced checkbox functionality in about two weeks, and now enables claims to be processed by a two‑person team—delivering faster evaluations, reduced indemnity spend and improved client service.
