A Lumina Learning Case Study
ALiGN, working with Lumina Learning, set out to tackle bias in recruitment and help vulnerable, underserved jobseekers—such as refugees, newcomers, racialised groups, people with disabilities, women, youth and indigenous peoples—gain fair access to jobs. The challenge was that traditional employer-led hiring processes, CV screening and black-box AI can disadvantage people with limited experience and make it harder for them to be seen on their strengths and fit for a role.
Lumina Learning supported ALiGN with its Lumina Spark personality assessment, Spark Portrait reports, the Spark Splash app, e-learning modules and career counselling support to create a jobseeker-centric matching model. Jobseekers could understand their personality strengths, get coaching and be matched to roles based on fit rather than just credentials, while employers gained access to a broader and more diverse talent pool. The programme has attracted over 20,000 employers, registered 6,936 jobseekers, generated 97,000 employer connection requests and reported an 89% job placement rate, with a study showing a 30% higher employment success rate for candidates identified as a natural fit.
