W.L. Gore & Associates, maker of GORE‑TEX® and a $1.2 billion innovator in fluoropolymer products, needed a consistent, transparent way to evaluate and forecast R&D project performance across interdisciplinary teams. To address uncertainty and scalability in project reviews, Gore selected Lumina Decision Systems’ Analytica for its probabilistic simulation (Monte Carlo), visual model transparency, and modular scalability.

Using Lumina Decision Systems’ Analytica, Gore implemented a standard facilitation process with trained “Facilitators” and core interdisciplinary teams to gather data, characterize uncertainty, and run sensitivity analyses (including tornado diagrams). The Analytica framework made assumptions auditable, sped executive reviews by eliminating methodological debates, and delivered clearer, probabilistic risk and sensitivity insights to guide R&D decision-making.
