Royal Air Force boosts conference Q&A with Lumi, surfacing up to 30 questions per session

The Royal Air Force sought to modernize its high-profile Air Power Conference, moving away from traditional formats to embrace its theme of 'inspiration and innovation.' A key challenge was improving the quality and inclusivity of audience Q&A, as senior and junior delegates were often reluctant to speak up in a live setting. To maximize engagement while minimizing risk, they partnered with vendor Lumi and utilized the Lumi Event App.

Lumi's solution enabled delegates, both in-person and remote via livestream, to submit and 'like' questions in real-time through the app's Live Insights feature. This allowed session chairs to identify key themes and prioritize the most popular questions. The result was a vibrant, live dialogue with up to 30 quality questions per session, ensuring discussion focused on delegate interests. The relatively anonymous format increased participation, and the collected insights helped shape future presentations, significantly enhancing the overall conference value.
