Meetings Africa Gets the Support it Needs from Lumi

Meetings Africa, a large pan-African expo held annually in Johannesburg, needed local technology support for its event. After using a competitor’s technology without on-site help, the organisers had to manage everything themselves, which added pressure at a busy time. They also wanted to connect buyers from the Unique Speakers Bureau session upstairs with exhibitors in the main event below.

Meetings Africa made Lumi its official technology partner for Meetings Africa 2016 and used a customised app based on Lumi Show, along with Lumi Say and two live Twitter walls. Lumi stayed on site to support setup and usage, including WiFi and app access. The app’s exhibitor and attendee features were opened more than 2,300 times, over 1,200 people participated on the Twitter wall, and Lumi Say delivered a 64% activation rate, 161 meeting ratings, 134 “please contact me” requests, and 246 selfie competition entries.
