The Automobile Association (the AA), a leading UK motoring organisation with around 8,000 employees and 15 million members, faced a slow, largely paper-based recruitment process that produced many incomplete applications and a poor candidate experience. The HR team needed to streamline hiring, improve applicant quality, and retain contact with strong candidates who might not meet immediate geographic needs.
In 2007 the AA implemented Lumesse Talent Acquisition to move recruitment online, simplify candidate questionnaires and build a talent pipeline that segments applicants by location and stage. As a result incomplete applications fell from about 70% to just over 20%, time to hire was halved (from 77 to 37 days), the AA processed over 30,000 applications in 2010 and narrowed talent pools to focus on higher-quality candidates, improving its employer brand.
