A Lumen Case Study
Gaijin Entertainment, the European online game developer and publisher behind titles such as War Thunder, Crossout, Star Conflict and Cuisine Royale, needed a way to handle unpredictable traffic spikes and large game updates while keeping network costs under control. With more than 40 million players worldwide, the company faced the risk of outages, poor performance, and loss of player loyalty when major 2–5GB updates were released simultaneously across its global audience.
Lumen provided Gaijin Entertainment with a scalable Content Delivery Network (CDN) as part of a multi-CDN strategy, delivering secure, high-performance content distribution worldwide. The solution helped Gaijin improve reliability, quickly scale for demand surges, and make billing more predictable with annual commercial terms; Lumen became the main provider, carrying more than half of Gaijin’s traffic, while also improving customer support responsiveness and the overall gaming experience for players globally.
