Zapier scales up internal communication operations for their fully distributed team

Zapier, the leader in easy automation with a fully distributed workforce across 42 countries, needed a scalable way to replace a patchwork of internal tools (GitHub playbooks, a WordPress blog and Slack) after rapid growth in 2022. In January 2022 they selected LumApps to consolidate communications, improve accessibility, and provide a long‑term intranet/CMS that non‑technical teams could manage.

LumApps, implemented alongside partner Social Edge Consulting, delivered a metadata-driven, customizable platform with widgets, segmentation and Slack integrations (Zaps) to automate distribution of corporate news and resources. The rollout drove about 1,000–1,500 views per week, ~90% adoption, ~100 content contributors, and supported roughly 300 hires since launch, improving content governance, accessibility and targeted employee communications.
