Sin City Planning Gets Even Speedier With Search

Vegas.com is a direct-to-consumer travel site for Las Vegas that serves about 2.3 million users monthly, roughly half on mobile. The mobile experience lacked full-featured search, forcing users into slow, linear booking flows that hurt engagement and conversions.

Lucidworks Fusion added full-text search, query pipelines, auto-suggest and signal-capture personalization (on an Apache Solr foundation) to deliver fast, relevant mobile search. The result: page views and engagement rose 63%, mobile bounce rate fell 8%, conversions from search increased 33%, and search—used by 8% of mobile users—accounted for 12–15% of overall conversions; the team later rolled Fusion out to desktop as well.
