Cal Poly, a nationally ranked public university, needed a better way for students in Dr. Griggs’ systems analysis, information systems, and business process courses to create visuals and collaborate. Their existing diagramming workflow was cumbersome, tied to lab computers, and made sharing work slow because students had to rely on email. Lucid Software’s Lucidchart was introduced as the vendor’s cloud-based diagramming product to address these challenges.

With Lucid Software’s Lucidchart, students could diagram from any device and operating system, collaborate in real time, and give instructors faster feedback. The platform also reduced the need to manage multiple software environments and supported additional uses like mind mapping, presentation features, and application mockups. While no numeric results were provided, Cal Poly reported improved collaboration, easier access, and a much simpler experience for teaching and completing technical coursework.
