Orgill, the world's largest independently owned hardlines distributor, faced the challenge of managing its immense growth and maintaining high fulfillment accuracy across its eight distribution centers. To serve its 12,000+ customers with precision and meet their varied needs, from acting as an inventory manager for small retailers to operating as an e-commerce fulfillment center, Orgill required a more advanced solution. They partnered with vendor Lucas Systems to implement the Lucas Warehouse Optimization Suite, powered by the Jennifer voice-directed orchestration engine.

The solution from Lucas Systems provided user-friendly, voice-directed picking tools that optimized warehouse operations. This implementation enabled Orgill to achieve a 99.6% order accuracy rate and allowed associates to complete a pick every 22 seconds. The Lucas system also uniquely allowed for the efficient picking of up to 99 e-commerce orders at once. Associates reported the system was intuitive, requiring only about an hour of training, and the hands-free technology improved both safety and productivity.
