A LTU Case Study
The customer, OCBC, a French governmental entity within the judicial police, faced the challenge of combating the illegal trafficking of cultural goods and accelerating its complex investigative work. To address this, they sought a technology solution to efficiently search their extensive database of stolen art and artifacts. The vendor, LTU, provided its Visual Search technology for integration.
LTU implemented its on-premise visual recognition solution, which creates a unique signature for each image, allowing for fast and confidential searches within OCBC's database. This integration provided a significant gain in work efficiency for investigators. As a result of this and broader efforts, the number of theft incidents in churches dropped dramatically from over 6,000 annually in the 2000s to between 800 and 1,500 per year, demonstrating a measurable and positive impact.
