A LTN Global Case Study
ESL, the world’s largest esports company, needed to distribute program (PGM) signals and cleanfeeds to millions of viewers and multiple sub-production houses across platforms like Twitch, YouTube Live and Twitter Live while overcoming on-site bandwidth limitations and varied regional audience needs. To address this, ESL leveraged LTN Global’s Live Video Cloud (LVC) to centralize ingest and manage routing, transcoding and delivery of feeds to global destinations.
LTN Global’s Live Video Cloud routed and transcoded ESL’s broadcast-grade on-site feeds in the cloud, enabling easy rerouting, adding destinations on the fly, and providing cleanfeeds to regional partners without interrupting live events. The solution scaled ESL’s reach and reliability — for example, ESL One Cologne 2017 achieved over 62 million sessions and 13 million hours of live video, and ESL One Cologne 2018 delivered 31 million hours with a 746,000 peak concurrent viewership across 52 hours of airtime — while reducing the impact of local bandwidth constraints.
